In order to release hot or cold air, air conditioners use chemical compounds called “refrigerants.” Refrigerants are more harmful to the environment than CO₂ is; therefore, it is important to collect them at the time of disposal. However, there are no refrigerant recovery systems in developing countries, and most are released into the atmosphere.
When ending Baridi Baridi’s subscription service, refrigerants will be collected together with the AC unit without being released into the atmosphere.
